Ar'uq is the Alutiiq word for humpback whale. I created this acrylic ink, watercolor, and alcohol ink piece was created while thinking about my time living and working in Alaska. In the village of Seward, which sits on Resurrection Bay, the humpbacks swim elegantly beneath the cold water -- giants just below.
