Lots of deep stretching in this slow flow with Kris today.
After class I did a two hour workshop on hypermobility w/ Caitlin. She showed us techniques for helping ourselves and our students, including elbow rotations, and the placement of tennis balls under the hip bone to ease the soaz. A really helpful class.
I 'unlocked' some deep seated emotions in our last restorative pose, a supported savasana with both a bolster and blocks raising our hips. The hips and pelvis hold and store so much, especially for those of us who have borne children. Almost like a deep, primal ache. The emotions were happy ones, built from happy memories that emerged. Drinking coffee on a couch, listening to city sounds just outside the window. Locked away and hidden from the world.
